Know before you book
- Free admission, not a discount: up to ninety sights let you straight in, and the hop-on hop-off buses are included.
- Days are CALENDAR days, not 24-hour periods. A pass first used at four in the afternoon has lost most of that day.
- A child fare covers ages 6 to 18 inclusive, and the age that counts is the age on the day of use, not the day you bought it. Under-6s go free with an adult pass-holder.
- It pays off at about three paid sights a day. Below that, buy admissions as you go — the arithmetic is on this page and we have not written it to flatter the pass.
- Neither pass is designed for large groups: some sights will not admit parties of more than ten.
Questions guests ask
Which pass should I buy?
If you plan three or more paid sights a day, the Vienna PASS. If you mostly want to get around and take a discount where it comes, the Vienna City Card, which costs a fifth as much. If you want a handful of specific sights over a longer stay, the FLEXI Pass.
Are the days 24-hour periods?
No — calendar days. A one-day pass first used at 16:00 expires at midnight that night. Start in the morning.
Are children charged differently?
Yes. A child pass covers ages 6 to 18 inclusive at roughly half the adult price, and the age that counts is the age when the pass is used. Children under 6 go free with an adult pass-holder and need no pass at all.
What do you charge on top?
Nothing. Our booking fee is €0.00 and we sell every pass at the operator’s own face value — we print the fee on your order at €0.00 rather than leaving it out.
When is buying no pass at all the right answer?
Often. A pass pays off at about three paid sights a day; below that you are better off buying admissions as you go, and we would rather say so here than sell you one.
Do you earn a commission on these?
We buy the passes and resell them at face value. That is the whole arrangement, and it is why the arithmetic on this page is not written to flatter the pass.
