Terms and conditions
The short version sits on top; the binding version follows it. Both are the same rules.
The short version
We sell tickets and experiences in Vienna. The price shown is the price charged. You can change a date free until 48 hours before, twice. You can cancel within 14 days of buying, but never inside 48 hours of the performance. If we cannot supply, you are refunded in full, immediately, whatever the date.
Provisional
The wording below has not yet been reviewed by our consumer-law counsel. The rules it describes are settled and enforced; it is the wording that is not final. Every order stores the version and the language it was shown, which is why this can be said plainly rather than hidden.
Who you are contracting with
The Vienna Evening Company GmbH, a company registered in Vienna, Austria. Our full registration details and address are on the imprint page and are the same details printed on every invoice we issue.
For some products we sell as an independent ticket service rather than as the venue itself. Where that is the case the product page says so, and the price includes our sourcing and service.
Prices and what is included
Prices shown include VAT and every fee we charge. Our booking fee is €0.00 and is printed on your order at €0.00 rather than omitted.
Where a ticket has a printed face value, that value is shown separately on your order beside what we charged, so you can see which part is the house’s.
Prices do not vary by date. Where a product has an adult and a child fare, the age boundary is set by whoever runs the product and is printed beside the quantity selector in their own words.
Payment
Your card is charged when you place the order. Your ticket — QR code, wallet pass and PDF — is issued in the same moment, for every product.
One exception exists, and it is a sequence rather than a different rule: for tickets bought through an operator’s live system, the payment is authorised, the operator’s ticket is bought, and the payment is captured, all inside the same request. Nothing is charged if the operator refuses.
Changing the date
A date change is free until 48 hours before the performance, for the same event and the same category, up to two times per order.
If the new date costs more, you pay the difference. If it costs less, your original price stands.
Where the change is forced by the supplier rather than chosen by you — a category that is no longer available, a performance moved to another time — that is a failure to supply on our side, and any difference in your favour is refunded to you.
A printed card that is already in your hands has to come back to us before the house will reissue it, so that change is not self-service. The page says so and offers the office instead of a disabled button.
Cancelling and refunds
Event tickets are refundable until fourteen days after purchase, or until 48 hours before the performance, whichever comes first. That date is calculated when you order and printed on each line.
Shop goods carry the statutory fourteen-day withdrawal right, running from delivery rather than from purchase.
Gift cards are refundable within fourteen days while completely unredeemed, to the original payment method only.
Refunds go to the payment method you used. We start them the same day and banks take three to five working days after that.
This fourteen-day window is offered voluntarily. Services tied to a specific date of performance are exempt from the statutory right of withdrawal under Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU; we refund anyway.
If we cannot supply
If we cannot supply what you bought, the affected line is refunded in full and immediately, however close the date, and the 48-hour limit does not apply.
Where an order contains several parts and only one of them fails, that part is refunded at exactly the value allocated to it and the rest of your order stands.
We will tell you that we could not supply it. We will not tell you a different evening is now yours without your asking for it.
Seating
Where the seats themselves are what you bought, your party sits together and that is guaranteed.
Where a room assigns seats inside a category, we always place your party on one order and ask the venue to seat you together. If a venue seats you apart, tell us and we will put it right.
Where a room seats freely, nobody assigns a seat at all and we make no promise about where you sit. Those pages say so.
Printed cards
Some products are physical cards issued by the organiser. They are collected free from our office or delivered free to your hotel. They are never posted.
Each of the two routes closes at its own deadline, and both deadlines are printed before you pay. Past the later one the product leaves sale entirely, so nobody is sold a card they could not collect.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for supplying what you bought and for refunding you when we cannot.
We are not responsible for a performance a venue cancels of its own accord, beyond refunding you in full — which we do.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Austrian or European consumer law.
Law and language
Austrian law applies. These terms are published in English, German, Italian, French and Spanish.
The translations are produced by machine and published without a human approval step, which we say here rather than leaving you to discover it. The version and the language you agreed to are stored on your order.
