Three ways in
The evenings
A tavern, a cellar, a hill — each on its own page with its own dates. We hold no stock in any of them: a date is open or it is sold out.

Vienna’s vineyards and cellars
Gemischter Satz cellar tasting
Ninety minutes in a four-hundred-year-old cellar in the first district, led by a sommelier, tasting Gemischter Satz — the field blend of several white varieties planted, picked and pressed together that is grown nowhere else the same way and has its own DAC designation.

Heuriger evening in Grinzing
A hosted evening at a Heuriger in Grinzing: about three hours at a long table of eight to sixteen, with the buffet plate and the first half litre included, in a tavern licensed to pour its own wine since Maria Theresia signed the decree.

Vienna’s vineyards and cellars
Vineyard walk & winemaker lunch
A morning on the Nussberg with a winemaker: up through the vines above the city, the Danube and the whole of Vienna below, and lunch at the grower’s own table at the end of it. Saturdays from April to November, capped at twelve.
On every evening
What we would tell you at the counter
Whose seats
The tavern’s, the cellar’s, the estate’s
We hold no stock in any of them. A date is open or it is sold out, and we never print a number of places, because the number is not ours to know.

Seasons
A paused evening says when it returns
Where an evening rests for a season its page says so and names the return date, in a note that is about the calendar and never about stock.
A season, not a shortage
The evening ends early. The music doesn’t.
Most wine evenings finish in time for a late concert in town; the calendar shows what is on that night.
