Two rooms, one programme

Festsaal
Palais alte Börse, Wipplingerstraße 34, 1010 Wien
Theophil Hansen’s brick-red Neo-Renaissance house on the Ring, built 1870–1877 by the architect of the Musikverein and the Parliament. Its Festsaal — thirteen metres to the stucco ceiling — is where the orchestra plays most nights.
90 nights · 2 October 2026 – 30 December 2026
Who plays
A chamber ensemble in two historic rooms
The Wiener Residenz Orchester was founded in 1990 by the pianist and conductor Paul Moser and the singer Sylvia Moser, and in 1999 was among the first orchestras in Vienna to give a daily classical series — then in the Palais Liechtenstein, today under the name Vienna Classic Concerts.
A chamber ensemble of the orchestra plays the evening — flute, violins, double bass, cello and piano — with a vocal soloist for the arias and duets and a dancing pair in the waltzes. The programme is Mozart and Johann Strauss first, then Vivaldi, Beethoven, Schubert, Haydn, Brahms and Lehár, composers the house chooses for their ties to Vienna. In 2026 the series marks Mozart’s 270th birthday and gives him the greater part of the night.

Know before you book
- Seats are not numbered: the evening staff show you to a seat inside the category you choose, and we ask for your party to be seated together.
- Ninety minutes. Mozart, Strauss, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Schubert, Haydn and Lehár — the orchestra compiles the programme itself and may change it on the night.
- Two rooms: the Festsaal of the Palais alte Börse and the Schubert Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus. Every night names its room.
- The evening box office opens thirty minutes before the concert. Both rooms are barrier-free and air-conditioned; smart casual is the suggested dress.
- Your QR e-ticket and wallet pass are issued the moment you pay.
Questions guests ask
What is included in the price?
Everything. The price shown is the price charged: our booking fee is €0.00 and we print it on your order at €0.00 rather than leaving it out.
When is my ticket issued?
At checkout. Your QR code, wallet pass and PDF exist the moment your card is charged.
Which room is my concert in?
Each date says so before you book — the Palais alte Börse on Wipplingerstraße or the Wiener Konzerthaus on Lothringerstraße — and your ticket repeats it.
Why can I not pick a seat?
Neither room has numbered seats. You book a category and the evening staff show you to a seat inside it, which is how these historic halls have always been sold.
Can I change the date?
Yes, free, until 48 hours before, for the same category, up to twice. If the new date costs more you pay the difference; if it costs less, your original price stands.
Until when can I cancel?
Fourteen days from purchase, and never inside 48 hours of the concert — whichever comes first. The exact date is printed on your order line.
Will my party sit together?
We always book your party on one order and ask the hall to seat you together inside your category. If they seat you apart, tell us and we will put it right.
What if you cannot supply it?
You are refunded in full and immediately, whatever the date, and told that we could not supply it. There is no voucher and no substitute you did not choose.
