The Fiaker, honestly
A carriage is priced per carriage, and the horses have rules that outrank your booking.

A Fiaker is a horse-drawn carriage with a driver, hired whole. It is not a per-person ticket, which is why there is no adult and child fare on the page — the carriage costs what it costs whether two people or four are in it.
The rules that outrank a booking
The drivers work to welfare rules and those rules are never moved for a booking. Horses rest when they are due to rest. Above a certain summer temperature the carriages stop and stand in the shade, and in ice they do not go out at all. If that cancels your ride, you are refunded in full — it is a failure to supply, and the 48-hour rule has nothing to do with it.

What the ride is like
- Open carriage. In winter that means blankets and cold hands, and in rain it means wet.
- The driver talks if you want them to and does not if you do not. Say which.
- The meeting point is fixed and printed on your confirmation; the carriage does not collect from a hotel.

Exact route timings on a given day, and the temperature thresholds each operator applies.
Traffic and the day’s weather decide both, and the operator applies their own rule rather than one we set.
The product page carries each route’s published duration and price. The stopping rule is the drivers’, stated as theirs.

Questions guests ask
Answered at the Vienna Evening counter.
- Is a Fiaker priced per person?
- No, per carriage, hired whole. That is why there is no child fare on the page — the price does not change with the number of passengers.
- What happens in bad weather?
- In extreme heat the carriages stop and stand in the shade; in ice they do not go out. If your ride cannot run you are refunded in full, immediately.
- Can the carriage collect me from my hotel?
- No. There is a fixed meeting point and it is printed on your confirmation.
- How many people fit?
- Each route’s page states the carriage’s capacity. Book the carriage, not the seats.
- Is it cold in winter?
- Yes. The carriage is open. Blankets help and gloves help more.
- Can I choose the route?
- You choose from the routes on the page. The driver keeps to it; the horses’ rest is not part of the negotiation.
